Guns A-Blaze

This entry represents what I hope will be a regular-ish sort of post. I have been carrying a small graphing paper notepad for six years, sporadically writing or drawing what comes my way. Mostly, though, it has been under utilized. So I've decided to try to fill it up with small one-page autobiographical comics about my mostly mundane life. Even more exciting - I drew this one without a pencil! *GASP*

Untitled Update, Part 4

The following two pages will be the last updates on this project for at lease a little while. It makes for a nice dramatic pause in the story. From here, it's on to other magnificent beasts. Let me know what you think...

As of Yet Untitled Project, Part 2

I think these might be two of my favorites thus far. Though that doesn't say much considering there are only 8 pages.

As of Yet Untitled Project, Part 1

These are the first three pages of a story I've been working on for far too long. But they also serve as an exercise in page construction and limited story boarding. So I create each page as a sort of one-shot scene, although it has a connection to the previous and successive page. This story has also been an experiment in melodrama, where I'm taking a true story of a seemingly inconsequential accident and blowing every bit of it out of proportion, hopefully creating a sense of ridiculousness while stretching my narrative chops, as it were. More pages to come. Enjoy!

Rewind: First Commission

I thought I would share what essentially was my first commission, in 2010. This was created in ink and watercolor as four separate images, but I have edited them in a rather mediocre manner to be one piece. Below that is a grainy photograph of the final product framed. The story is one of those silly old things people do while growing up that ends up sticking with us. Apparently, it's meant to be told in an Australian accent. Try it out.
