Turn Back Time: CCS 2011, Part 2

During the Create Comics summer workshop, I was occasionally able to take a break from my nefarious interning duties for quality drawing time. On Friday afternoon though, I put all my secret second-hand learnin' down on paper!

John Chad, 2011

Adventure Camp makes a regular appearance each year, with Jon Chad lending his outstanding world building chops and character development muscle. He provides the characters, Rogar and Garland, two young adventure-seekers, and the setting: the world's greatest sleep-away camp island! Each cartoonist chooses a specific spot on the map and goes. to. town. Here's my entry, in three pages.

These pages represent some of my earliest use of the mighty brush pen, as well as my first rumble with page borders. Me thinks it won't be the last.

This one-sheet was completed during my time as an intern at The Center for Cartoon Studies in WRJ, Vermont. A special thanks to Jen Vaughn for using it as an example in Scholastic Arts, November 2011. Enjoy those links!
